I am Professor of Aesthetics at Università di Genova (Dipartimento di Antichità, Filosofia e Storia - DAFIST). I received a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino and then a PhD in Philosophy from the Università di Torino. I taught “History of Film and Film Criticism” at Università del Piemonte Orientale and "Philosophy of Engineering" at Politecnico di Torino. In 2014 I was awarded a Fellowship in Bonn (Käte Hamburger Kolleg), and in 2015 a Fellowship in Paris (FMSH – Gerda Henkel Stiftung). In 2016-2017 I was visiting researcher at Institut Jean Nicod in Paris, and in 2018-2019 Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellow at LOGOS Research Group in Analytic Philosophy, Universitat de Barcelona. I work on philosophical issues concerning fiction and depiction. My primary area of research is philosophy of film.
